Legacy Globe Light - Artist Collaboration

—- (TBC)

The opera stage is a site of storytelling. A performer steps onstage to assume a role, then steps off to return to lived reality. Within this rhythmic transaction, the boundary between performance and actuality grows increasingly porous. If the stage serves as a metaphor for life, what truths does this exchange disclose?

At the heart of this transaction is light. Light is the breath of the stage—the "let there be" moment where emptiness becomes world.

As light washes over the performer, life rushes in; where shadows recede, infinite possibilities unfold.

Light does not merely illuminate the scene; it animates it, awakening costume and gesture into being.

Key elements of the costume, such as sequins, metallic threads, and reflective materials, are used to create images that catch and reveal more light, exemplifying how radiance is not passive but actively constructed. When the stage darkens, the performers and their adornments return to their own lives, carrying the memory of that borrowed radiance.

The Way

A vision of deliverance opened by God and narrowed into a path that leads to life.

Two forces, oceanic blue for hope and radiant white for the transformative power of God, shear apart along the horizon to form a passage from bondage to promise, echoing the New Testament’s narrow way that few find yet which leads to eternity.

The Truth

A symbol of faith as God speaks to Moses in Exodus 3:14, “I AM WHO I AM,” and Jesus says, “before Abraham was born, I am,” in John 8:58.

Fired with strata of light like the burning bush, the sphere discloses the His identity through an atmosphere of radiance and holiness.

It gathers the Creator’s glory from beginning to end, offering continuity, clarity, and certainty.

The Life

Three ascending currents of red, yellow, and white interweave like living branches across the sphere.

Red signifies the saving blood of Christ, yellow evokes the vigilant and protective presence of the Holy Spirit, and white points to God the Father, omnipresent Creator and Lord of all.

Distinct yet inseparable strokes form a visual theology of the Trinity, and the thickened impasto at each crossing inscribes salvation, protection, and creation into the very grain of human experience.

Meet the Artist

- Jemieah

Jemieah is a 19 year old mixed media visual artist based in Hong Kong.

Growing up in one of the most crowded and rushed cities in the world, the race to excel became a drive to slow down and create instead. Jemieah envisions her craft as her wings, a force that allows her to soar and experiment with materials such as coloured foil, oil and extensive pieces that go beyond the canvas.

She often portrays wings in her subjects as a symbol of freedom that coexists with healing. Her craft has become a way of prayer and peace in the chaotic mundane life.

Jemieah’s works have been featured in 4 exhibitions as of now; including the International Art Museum of America in San Francisco in 2024. Recently completing her first solo exhibition in Hong Kong featuring 24 of her artworks and have been featured in the TOP 100 emerging women artists of 2025 by the Arts to Hearts Project.

Her globe lights are currently taking shape under her hands, set for unveiling by the end of October.
